5 expatriate Bangladeshis died in fire in Abu Dhabi after being hit by a lorry

Five expatriate Bangladeshis have lost their lives in a fire caused by a lorry in the United Arab Emirates. The accident took place in the Shahama area of ​​the country's capital, Abu Dhabi, between 9:30 and 10:30 local time on Sunday.

The deceased is the driver Muhammad Rana Mia, son of Muhammad Lutfar of Nawabganj Balenga area, Muhammad Ibadul Sheikh, son of Muhammad Ibrahim Sheikh of the same area, Muhammad Raju Hossain, son of Sheikh Arshad, Muhammad Rashed, son of Abdul Hakim of Nawabganj Rajapur area and Iklach Mridha, son of Manchol Mridha of Dhaka Doha. 

Shahidul Islam, the younger uncle of the deceased Rana, said that although all the deceased were legally in the United Arab Emirates, they were not working under the employer and used to do various jobs subject to finding work elsewhere. On the day of the incident, they met with an accident on the way from Ajman to Abu Dhabi to work in the house of an Arab. In the afternoon I got the news that they died in the fire. The local police called us to submit information to identify them. We accordingly went to Abu Dhabi with the documents and deposited everything. But we were not allowed to see the bodies as they were burnt. 

Hazra Sabbir Hossain, labor councilor of the Bangladesh Embassy in Abu Dhabi, said that the labor welfare wing of the Bangladesh Embassy in Abu Dhabi visited the accident site on Monday. They have contacted the Mafraq Highway Traffic Department, the agency investigating the accident. The Embassy also spoke to Major Abdul Karim, Head of the Road Accident Department of the Mafrak Highway Traffic Department. A death certificate will be issued only after a complete report is received by the police after the identification of the body. He said that arrangements will be made to send the dead bodies to the country as soon as possible.
