An expatriate named Babul Mia (40) died due to electrocution in Brahmanbaria's Sarail. The incident took place at Dubajail village of Aruail Union of the upazila at 12 noon on Tuesday.
The deceased Babul Miah is the son of the deceased Haji Dhala Miah, the former chairman of Aruail Union.
The deceased's son, Mamun Mia, said that his father had been in Iraq for a long time. He came home from Iraq a few months ago. At around 12 noon on Tuesday, he got up to cut trees in his residence. He was electrocuted by an electric wire on his head and died.
Chairman of Aruail Union Parishad, Mosharraf Hossain Bhuiyan said, there was no plastic wrap cover on the electricity cable, due to which the accident is happening.
Sarail Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mohammad Emranul Islam said that a person from Dubajail village died due to electrocution. The body will be brought to the police station and necessary legal action will be taken.
