Bangladeshi youth killed in road accident in Malaysia

A Bangladeshi youth named Abdul Majed Khan (29) was killed after being run over by a car while crossing the road in Malaysia.

The accident occurred while crossing the road last Monday morning.

The deceased was the son of Moazzem Khan of Mahendrapur village in the Ratandia union of Kalukhali upazila of Rajbari. 

According to family sources, Majed went to Malaysia about nine months ago and started working as a laborer in a company in Penang City. On Monday morning, while crossing the road on his way to get a medical for a new visa, he was hit by a speeding car. He died on the spot.

After the news of his death reached Bangladesh, a shadow of grief fell on the family. Moazzem Khan, the father of the deceased Majed Khan, said, "My son died in a road accident in Malaysia. I want my son's body to be brought back to the country quickly. The government should take quick action."

Kalukhali Upazila Executive Officer (UNO) Mahua Afroz said, "After learning about the death of Abdul Majed Khan in a road accident in Malaysia, we contacted the Expatriates' Welfare Ministry. The ministry will take action in this regard."
