The bodies of a brother-in-law and a brother-in-law have arrived home in coffins from Kuwait, a country in the Arabian Peninsula. Their home is in Bishwanath, Sylhet.

The deceased in the accident are Koyesh Mia (44), son of the late Mona Ullah of Narshingpur village in Bishwanath municipality, and Russell Ahmed (29), son of Abdul Gauche of Kharikona village in the upazila. The two died of suffocation due to generator smoke inside a tent at their workplace in Kuwait on December 3.

The bodies of the two expatriates reached their homes on Sunday. At that time, mourning was seen in both houses.

According to local sources, Koyesh Mia lived in a tent in the desert of Kuwait. He recently fell ill. Last Tuesday, his brother-in-law, Russell Ahmed, went there to take care of the sick Koyesh. That night, due to the severe cold, they slept inside the tent by turning on the heater through a generator. In the morning, other expatriates went and found them dead in the tent. Later, the expatriate relatives took their bodies to a local hospital in that country.

The hospital report said that they both died due to suffocation due to the smoke from the generator.

Koyesh Mia has been a Saudi expatriate for a long time. He has a wife, a son, and a daughter. He left the country for Kuwait after a vacation three months ago. His brother-in-law Russell Ahmed went to Kuwait four years ago. He has a 13-month-old daughter.

Meanwhile, their bodies reached their village homes on Sunday morning. Koech Mia's funeral prayer was held at the Narshingpur North field around 12:15 pm. He was later buried in the family graveyard. After the funeral prayer at the Kharikona village mosque, Russell Ahmed's body was buried in the local cemetery.
