The first death anniversary of poet Asad Chowdhury was observed in Canada

The first death anniversary of renowned poet Asad Chowdhury has been observed in Canada with respect and remembrance. A panel discussion, recital and music performance were held at the Toronto Multicultural Film Auditorium to mark his death anniversary on Friday.

Enayet Karim Babul, Aminul Islam Khokon, Monis Rafiq, Sheikh Shahnawaz, Bidyut Sarkar, Ahmed Hossain, Maitri Devi, Kabir's daughter Shaoli and Kabir's son Asif Chowdhury participated in the discussion meeting moderated by Himadri Ray. 

The speakers discussed various aspects of poet Asad Chowdhury's poetry and his long cultural life. At this time, everyone was emotionally overwhelmed by the touching memories of Shaoli, the poet's daughter.

It should be noted that on October 5 last year, poet Asad Chowdhury died of cancer in a hospital in Ottawa, Canada. His body was then buried in Pickering.

At noon, the meeting was concluded by observing a minute of silence to pay respect to the poet.
