145 immigrants including Bangladeshis were detained in Malaysia

Immigration police arrested 145 undocumented immigrants including Bangladeshis in Malaysia. They were arrested in four locations in the city center of the country's Johor state. 

Immigration Department director Datuk Mohd Rushdi Mohd Darus said in a statement on Monday (July 15) that a company had hired foreign workers without a permit. The department's enforcement team conducted the operation between 10 am and 12.30 pm on July 13 after receiving complaints from the local public.

He said, 'A total of 203 migrants' documents were checked and 145 people were detained for various crimes.'

Among those arrested were 90 men and 18 women from Myanmar, 27 men from Nepal, four men and three women from Indonesia, and three men from Bangladesh, aged between 18 and 44.
