Abida Islam's credentials presented as permanent representative to IMO

Bangladesh High Commissioner to the United Kingdom Abida Islam has presented her credentials as Bangladesh's Permanent Representative to the International Maritime Organization (IMO).

He formally presented his credentials to the organization's Secretary-General, Arsenio Dominguez, at a ceremony held at the IMO headquarters in London.

Later, he met with the Secretary-General and discussed various aspects of mutual cooperation in the maritime sector between Bangladesh and IMO.

Abida Islam reiterated Bangladesh's commitment to ensuring safe, secure and environmentally friendly shipping.

IMO Secretary-General Arsenio Dominguez praised Bangladesh for playing a significant role in sustainable maritime development and urged other countries to follow Bangladesh in this regard.
