Demand for establishment of permanent consular office in Malaysia

Leaders of the Bangladesh Community Press Club Malaysia have demanded the establishment of a permanent consular office of the High Commission in Bangladeshi-dominated areas of Malaysia. 

The leaders of the newly elected Bangladesh Community Press Club Malaysia committee made this demand during a courtesy call on Bangladesh High Commission in Malaysia High Commissioner Md. Shamim Ahsan on Tuesday (February 4) afternoon. Later, a view-sharing meeting was held in the High Commission's meeting room.

At the meeting, journalist leaders strongly demanded that the current government, through the High Mission, establish permanent consular offices of the High Commission in Bangladeshi-populated provinces including Johor Bahru and Penang in Malaysia, to provide faster and easier services. 

At the same time, they requested the Malaysian authorities to facilitate the High Commission's services to quickly resolve the long-standing demands of the expatriates, including multiple visas, through discussions and expressed their determination to work for the reasonable demands of the expatriates, including honestly presenting their views in the media. At this time, the High Commissioner listened attentively to the words of the journalist leaders and assured them that they would convey their demands to the higher levels of the government.

At this time, Bangladesh Community Press Club Malaysia's newly elected committee president Aminul Islam Ratan, general secretary Zahirul Islam Hiron, former president Mustafa Imran Raju, vice-president Kaiser Hamid Hannan, Khandaker Mushtaq Ahmed Royal, joint-general secretary Saeed Haque, organizing secretary Bappi Kumar Das, office secretary Sawkat Hossain Joni, publicity secretary Shahab Uddin, executive member M. Farhad Hossain and other officials of the Bangladesh High Commission in Malaysia were present.
