The borough of Queens, New York City, has fallen into insecurity. Many people are not comfortable walking alone. Even inside the shop, the owners and employees are not able to perform their duties comfortably. Ozonepark in particular has become a sanctuary for deviants. Most of the time expatriates in this area are attacked during day-noon and night-time.

Finally, on the evening of May 12, at a money remittance and clothing store called 'Zara Lifestyle', expatriates protested because the miscreant was not arrested even after 6 days of looting cash and valuables at gunpoint.

On Friday (May 17) at 'Little Bangladesh Way' under the banner of Ozonepark Bangladeshi Business Association, expatriates from all walks of life reacted angrily. During this time, many people criticized the city administration.

Khairol Kabir Khokon, secretary of the business association said angrily, "The administration is running on our taxes." However, there is endless negligence in providing security. Despite repeated requests to increase police patrols, there was no response.

Misbah Abdin, leader of the Ozonepark community, Mohammad Kabir Chowdhury, president of Al Aman Mosque, community activist Anwar Khan, Fakhrul Islam Delwar, former secretary and community board member of Biyanibazar Association, Borhanuddin Kapil complained unanimously that there are no lights on many streets after evening. Many are affected while walking in the dark. As there is very little police patrolling during the day, miscreants attack simple expatriates in secluded areas. In recent times, robberies have been happening almost every day.
