Hasan of New York won the NAM poetry award

Poet and phrase editor Hasan Al Abdullah won the '22nd NAM International Poetry Award'. The award was announced on Monday, June 17, from the headquarters of the 'NAM Foundation' located in Lebanon. This award is given to poets from different countries of the world in a total of four branches. 

Hasan Al Abdullah, a son of Gopalganj living in New York, received the award in the creativity category. Earlier, in January this year, Hasan Al Abdullah was nominated for this award by the president of the Polish Writers' Union, poet Kazimierz Burnat. After receiving the award, the poet thanked the Nam Foundation. Expressed gratitude to the poet Kazimierz Burnat. 

It should be noted that the poet Hasan Al Abdullah has been awarded two more international awards earlier. Homer received the European Poetry Prize in 2016 and the Clemens Janesky Poetry Prize in 2021. Moreover, he has received a Translation Grant from New York Cultural Affairs (2019), Lebuhai Foundation Award for New Genre Individual Sonnets (2013), a Pushcart nomination and in 2007 he was honored as a Queen's Poro Poet Laureate Finalist. 

Hasan Al Abdullah is the editor of 'Shadbuchch' poetry magazine and a senior teacher of mathematics and computer science at New York City High School. His bilingual anti-war poetry book 'The Scattered Display of Limps' will be published by NAM Foundation.
