Malaysia repatriates 45 Bangladeshis from Kuala Lumpur airport

Malaysia has sent back 45 Bangladeshis from Kuala Lumpur Airport.

Malaysia's Border Control and Security Agency (AKPS) detained 68 foreigners for suspicious behavior at the airport on Wednesday local time. Of these, 45 were Bangladeshis. They have been deported.

In a statement, AKPS said the detainees did not proceed to the immigration counter despite claiming to be tourists. Instead, they roamed the airport's food stalls and other areas. It is suspected that they were waiting for someone in particular.

Later, 16 Pakistanis, 45 Bangladeshis, and seven Indian nationals were taken to the KLIA Immigration Operations Office. After their documents were verified, they were issued a Notice to Leave (NTL) without being officially allowed to enter Malaysia.

The agency also said that the highest number of NTLs was recorded in 24 hours until February 18.
