There was a terrible explosion in a chemical factory in Malaysia, three Bangladeshis were burnt

Several chemical factories in Malaysia's Johor province have had serious explosions and fires. Three Bangladeshi workers were burnt in this incident. 

The explosion occurred at the SILC industrial area in Gelang Patra, Iskandar Putra, Johor state around 11:30 am on Thursday.

Mohammad Faiz Suleman, Operation Commander of Putri Fire Station in Iskandar, said several firefighting teams quickly reached the spot after receiving the information at around 11:30 am. 

He said that eight fire units from six fire stations in Iskandar Puter, Skudai, Pekan Nenas, Pontian Baru, and Sebana Cove started working to control the fire at the scene. After several hours of effort, the firemen were able to bring the fire under control around 4 p.m.

He also said that out of four factories, one logistics warehouse was 80 percent damaged and three factories of a chemical company were 90 percent burnt. Three Bangladeshi workers inside the factory suffered 30 percent burns. Before the firemen arrived, the factory authorities sent them to Sultanah Aminah Hospital. However, the names of those three Bangladeshis have not been disclosed.
