Two Bangladeshis were killed by miscreants in Buffalo, the new settlement of Bangladeshis in New York State, USA. This incident happened yesterday Saturday afternoon. The two Bangladeshis killed were Yusuf (58) of Kanighat upazila of Sylhet and Babul (43) of Comilla.

According to Buffalo Police, at 12:30 PM, the two Bangladeshis were renovating a house on Jiner Street (corner of East Ferry Street and Bailey Avenue ). It was there that the shooting took place. A Bangladeshi was killed on the spot. Another died on the way to the hospital in critical condition.

Matiur Rahman Litu, a community activist and journalist living in Buffalo, told this correspondent on the telephone early on Sunday that Usuf and Babul were shot dead by miscreants while renovating the house of a Bangladeshi. This has spread fear among half a million immigrants who have settled in Buffalo near the Canadian border. However, the entire area has been cordoned off by the City Crisis Management Team on behalf of the Buffalo Police Administration.

It has been claimed that there is no doubt about the safety of the community.

Community leader Abul Bashar and journalist Matiur Rahman Litu said, we will gather at 995 Fillmore Avenue on Sunday afternoon to protest the murder and demand the immediate arrest of those responsible.

Murray Holman, executive director of Buffalo's 'Stop the Violence Coalition', told local media that people living in Buffalo City are peaceful. No violence has ever happened here. In such a situation, Bangladeshis who are known as a hard working community are affected.
