Expatriate Bangladeshis cheered with the national flag of Bangladesh from 10 am local time in Portugal's Lisbon port city of Porto.

In the Bengali-dominated Matrim Moniz area of Lisbon, more than two hundred expatriates started gathering with the Bangladeshi national flag at 10 am. After 10:30 am, a victory procession with various slogans was circulated in the entire area.

During this time, the expatriate Bangladeshis are seen hugging each other and cheering for victory, and sweets are distributed among all.

After the victory march, Bangladeshi expatriates said, "We demand justice by bringing all the criminals of the heinous student-crowd killings and tortures in the country under the law."

They called on everyone to come forward to send remittances through legitimate channels for the success of the anti-discrimination movement of the common students and to set the wheels of the economy moving to build a new independent Bangladesh for the next generation.

After the victory procession, a delegation of the Lisbon Bengali community, who had been kept away from the embassy for the past 15 years and shunned by a political group, visited the embassy and met the ambassador. At this time, on behalf of the delegation, the Bangladesh Embassy was urged to stand by the expatriates in a completely neutral manner and not to be influenced by any party or group.
