The United Arab Emirates will not take any unskilled workers from Bangladesh. The country has recently expressed interest in hiring bike and taxi drivers as skilled workers. At the moment, the Dubai Road and Transport Authority (RTA) of the country is interested in taking 900 skilled Bangladeshi drivers. On May 25, State Minister of Expatriate Welfare and Foreign Employment Ministry Shafiqur Rahman Chowdhury's visit to the United Arab Emirates indicated the recruitment of motor vehicle drivers.
Abdus Salam, Labor Counselor of Bangladesh Consulate in Dubai, said that in a meeting with the chairman and chief executive officers of the top 16 companies importing manpower from Bangladesh at a hotel in Dubai during the state minister's visit, RTA agreed to take bikes and taxi drivers from Bangladesh to Dubai.
He said that they have already received the demand letter of 900 workers. However, RTA is giving a lot of emphasis on language skills in the recruitment of this profession.
Meanwhile, it is known about taking bike drivers, bike riders get opportunities for delivery work in Dubai. They work 8 hours a day on a commission basis, some work 12 hours a day.
They said that if you want to come to this country, even if you have Bangladesh bike licenses, you have to come to the Emirates and take the licenses again. So the newcomers are requested to follow the proper procedure to enter the country.
