51-year-old Sharmeen Walker was shot and killed by a gunman at 204th Street and Murdoch Avenue in the St. Albans neighborhood of Queens, New York City.

Police said this on Sunday morning (January 19). Police arrived at the scene with an ambulance after he was shot in the neck, chest and left leg. He was taken to the nearby Jamaica Hospital. However, emergency room doctors declared him dead on the spot.

Darren Gordon, who has lived near the scene for 20 years, told police he was watching a football game on TV when he heard four gunshots in quick succession. A few seconds later, he heard four more rounds. Gordon said he didn't hear any commotion or fighting before the shots.

Another resident described Sharman Walker as a very good-natured person. Walker lived in a basement apartment near where he was shot and killed.

It is worth noting that this is the first murder this year in the 113th Precinct of Queens. There were seven murders last year.
