BUET Alumni Gala Night held in Canada

The BUET Alumni Gala Night-2025 was held in Calgary, Canada with a colorful event to develop expatriate engineers, support newly arrived immigrants in employment, and strengthen their future development.

The event, organized by the BUET Alumni Association Calgary at the Rio Banquet Hall, also discussed how to contribute to the growth of Bangladesh. The media partner for the event was Probas Bangla Voice.

The Rio Banquet Hall was filled with the procession of BUET alumni and their family members living in Calgary. Committee President Obaidul Kabir and General Secretary Shafqat Mahmud delivered the welcoming speeches. The presentation was made by Architect Nazmul Islam Siam and Rubaiyat Sharmin Mithila. Other members of the Committee were also present at the time. Dr. Rita Karmakar, Ishan, Farzana China, Aarushi, Saeed, Swasti, and Shaheen participated in the cultural program.

Ignoring the bitter cold of snowy Canada, the members of the expatriate BUET Alumni Association came out of their busy lives and enjoyed the festivities. The guests were mesmerized by the memories of the former students and the songs and charming cultural programs of their family members. After the dinner, a wonderful musical evening began with the Buetian legendary band "Scarf", formed in the nineties.

Obaidul Kabir, President of the BUET Alumni Association of Calgary, said, "Like every year, this year too, I had a lot of fun with my family. Such programs take us back to the days of the past."

General Secretary Shafqat Mahmud said that members of the BUET Alumni Association are preparing newly arrived engineers in Canada in various fields with guidance and skills to enter the job market through various workshops.

Education and Research Secretary Shantanu Banik said, "I believe that such events will bring us together and strengthen the foundation of communication."

It is worth noting that BUET alumni and their family members from Calgary City, Edmonton, Red Deer, Vancouver, and Saskatoon in North America, Canada, also participated in this gathering at the BUET Alumni Gala Night.
