The Bangladeshi film Bali (The Wrestler), based on Chittagong's traditional 'Boli Khele' story, was released in Canadian mainstream theaters on Saturday local time in Canada.
The movie was enjoyed by Bangladeshis as well as audiences from other communities on the first-day show at Mississauga's Central Parkway Cinema. It is said that the movie will be screened in this hall for a whole week.
28th Busan International Film Festival's top New Currents Award winner 'Bali' is being screened in Canada ahead of its Bangladesh release.
In this context, the director of the movie Iqbal Hossain Chowdhury said, "They are releasing the movie in Canada on a limited scale. Canadian audiences will be able to watch the movie for weeks. It has also been submitted to the Censor Board of Bangladesh. It will be released in Bangladesh as soon as it gets censored. There may also be a short time. But there are plans for a bigger scale release of the movie.”
Government grant film 'Bali' (The Wrestler) in FY 2020-21. The film is produced by Piplu R Khan. Saiful Azim and Gausul Alam Shaon are co-producers.
Nasir Uddin Khan played the lead role. He was seen in the role of a tough jailer in Sagarpar. Apart from this, Priyam Archie, Angel Noor, AKM Itmam, and others also acted.
