Inauguration of 'Suchitra Sen Bangla Film Festival' in New York

While inaugurating the two-day long 'Suchitra Sen International Bangla Film Festival' in New York, filmmaker Ferdous Ahmed MP said, 'There is no doubt that the Prime Minister is supporting the cultural activities of Bangladesh all the time. He will be very happy to know the news of today's event. Because this festival has several government-funded films, including Hriday Haque's '1971-Se Sab Din', which are shining the face of Bangladesh , Bangladeshi films will move forward as Bangladesh moves forward . May Bengali films win. Joy Bangla, Joy Bangabandhu. I announce the opening of this festival with everyone.'


At that time, apart from a few actors and actresses from Bangladesh and Calcutta, Ferdous was accompanied by expatriate scholars. 39 feature films, documentaries and short films will be screened at the Jamaica Performing Arts Center on Saturday morning until Sunday night. It was organized by 'Suchitra Sen Memorial USA' with the intention of making Bengali films popular among the new generation of Bengalis in the multinational society.


Jatiya Press Club general secretary Shyamal Dutt, film maker Hridi Haque, actor Chanchal Chowdhury, actresses Banya Mirza and Sohana Saba also came from Dhaka to attend the festival and 'Ekushe Awardee' writer Nazmunnessa Peary came from Germany.
