'Meghna Kanya' at Toronto Festival

The International Film Festival of South Asia (IFFSA) is going to start in Toronto from October 12. This film festival is said to be one of the biggest film festivals in South Asia. Bangladesh's 'Meghna Kanya' is going to have its world premiere at this year's event. The film will be screened at local multiplexes in Toronto on October 15.

The director Fuad Chowdhury is trying to show the difficult subject of personal conflicts in a simple story in the movie 'Meghna Kanya'. The director said, while working on docu-fiction, I have come across many stories, which cannot be told without a full-length film. 'Meghna Kanya' is one such story. Presenting a difficult issue like women trafficking to the audience on the one hand; At the same time, the story told in a rural background has enough entertainment for the audience.

'Meghna Kanya' is scripted by Fahmidur Rahman and Ahmed Khan Hirak. Fazlur Rahman Babu, Shatabdi Wadud, Semanti Das Soumi, Kazi Nowshaba Ahmed, Sajjad Hossain and many others are acting in the film. The famous Sumi is in the music. The film is produced by Kazi Saiful Islam and Anwar Azad. In collaboration with Switzerland and television partner Deepta TV.
