Portugal Sahitya Sangsad held a poetry festival in memory of national poet Kazi Nazrul Islam. On Friday (August 30) at the Four Star Hotel Mondial in Lisbon at 8 pm local time, the program began with reciting the Holy Quran under the chairmanship of the organization's president, Md. Enamul Haque, and jointly conducted by the organization's publicity secretary, Runa Akhtar, and the women's affairs secretary, Runa Akhtar. Abul Hossain Asad, the organization's General Secretary, gave a welcome speech to all present.

Ambassador Regina Ahmed, Bangladesh Embassy Lisbon was present as the chief guest on the occasion. Fauzia Khatun Rana, chief advisor of the organization, Rony Hossain, and Rajib Al Mamun, advisor of Portugal Literary Association were present as special guests. National Poet Kazi Nazrul Islam commemorated the poetry festival by dividing it into two parts. In the first part, the biography of the rebel poet is discussed, in the second part, there is poetry, dance, and award distribution about children growing up in exile. At the end of the program, prizes were awarded to all the participating children by Honorable Ambassador Regina Ahmed, Bangladesh Embassy Lisbon.
