Spanish version of the booklet titled 'Shilpacharya: Master of the Arts - Zainul Abedin' launched

The Spanish version of the booklet titled 'Shilpacharya: Master of the Arts - Zainul Abedin' was officially launched at the upper chamber of the Mexican Senate on 11 December 2024, jointly initiated by the Bangladesh Embassy in Mexico City and Ruta 5. The event highlighted the biography of Shilpacharya Zainul Abedin, a pioneer of modern painting in Bangladesh, his outstanding contribution to art, and his cultural connection with Mexico.

Present at the event were Senator Jacqueline Polanski, Chair of the Committee on Asia-Pacific Relations, Senator Ivideliza Reyes Hernández, Misael Martínez Sánchez of Ruta 5, Patron of the Arts Margarita Chacon Bache, and Representative Juan Tres Zili of Córdoba, among others. 

The documentary film 'Monpura 70' screened at the event introduced the audience to the unique artworks of Shilpacharya Zainul Abedin preserved in the National Museum of Bangladesh. The film reflected the timeless cultural significance of his artwork and his role in creating global harmony.

Senator Jacqueline Polanski, in his speech, highly praised the work of Shilpacharya Zainul Abedin and emphasized the importance of promoting Bangladeshi and Asian art in Mexico. He reiterated his commitment to strengthening cultural and diplomatic relations between Bangladesh and Mexico and his strong support for establishing a Mexican embassy in Bangladesh. He also noted that Shilpacharya Zainul Abedin's visit to Mexico 1956 laid the foundation for a long-lasting cultural dialogue between the two countries.
