A seven-day theater workshop has started at the Bangladesh Center in Toronto, Canada. The workshop started yesterday with a welcome speech by Imamul Haque of Toronto Theater Fox. It will continue till June 15 with a break of one day.
He mentioned in his speech that it is necessary to increase the number of theater workers in order to start regular theater performances in Toronto. This workshop is organized with this goal in mind. About 20 cultural workers and theater workers participated in this workshop.
The workshop includes acting, stage planning, lighting planning, background music, makeup, and stage management. In short, everything that is required to stage a play properly, properly, and successfully will be trained in this workshop. Drama is called the mirror of society. Drama is a powerful tool to move society forward, to create social awareness, to accelerate any social movement for public welfare, to change social tastes.
Playwright Mahmudul Islam Salim will be the instructor of this theater workshop and Sharmin Sharif Sharmi, and Mahmudul Islam Salim will be the coordinators.
Yesterday was the first day of the seven-day workshop. This workshop will continue till June 15 with a break for a day. The trainer of the workshop, dramatist Mahmudul Islam Salim said, 'I am overwhelmed to see that the key persons of various cultural and theatrical organizations have joined this workshop after keeping various programs in Toronto. This is like a reflection of love for Bengali drama. It is expected that Bengali drama and Bengali culture will advance in every city of the diaspora.'
