For the past 28 years, Christmas 2024 was celebrated with great joy and enthusiasm at the auditorium of Mary Immaculate School in Eaglevale, Sydney.
The event was truly enjoyable with all the members of the organization and dignitaries from Sydney in attendance. After a brief speech by President Alex Tuhin Gaine, the event was opened by the prayer 'Unimaginable Gift' delivered by Ellen Joseph Gomez.
The organization's magazine "Jol" was launched. This year, it was edited by Herbert Biswas. The illustrations and layout were done by Lawrence Barrell. A picture by photographer Ashok Adhikari was used as the cover.
After lunch, the joyful cultural program began. In this episode, hosted by Juliet Roy, songs, dances, and dramas were all impressive. The cultural episode was attended by Ushta, Viola, Irvin, Ronan, Abigail, Aura, Rusa, Adriana, Cherry Sarkar, Noel Chowdhury, Sangini Koraya, Deepa Biswas, Maryam Francis, Janet Shilpi, Indira Baroi. The children's episode was conducted by Jennifer Chowdhury and Linda Amy Mandal.
The songs were performed by Amiya Matin, Ashok Adhikari, Ellen Joseph and others. The musical instruments were played by Anadi Biswas, Theophile Vaidya and Debabrata Mandal played the role of Tapan D'Costasanta. He handed over the prizes to the children. However, some children were seen hesitating after seeing his long white beard.
Lunch and afternoon at 'Pitha Parva' were unique. The special attraction of the program was the short play 'Amader Hirak Raja'. The script and acting were by Lawrence Barrell, Juliet Gain, Indira Baroi, and Theophil Rony Vaidya. The last event was the raffle draw.
Lawrence Barrell decorated the event. Elen Joseph directed the sound. The event was presented and supervised by Nancy Leena Barrell. The working members worked tirelessly to make the event worthwhile.
