Humayun conference in New York: 'A man is as beautiful as his smile'

The 'Humayun Ahmed Conference and International Bangla Book Fair' was held in New York. In this event, the world-renowned magician and freedom fighter Jewel Ice said, 'Man is as beautiful as his smile, as big as his dreams and as successful as his work.' 

At the conference organized by the Writers Club USA and sponsored by Showtime Music at the Mary Louise Academy in Jamaica, Jewel Eyes said, "We should all focus on becoming famous ourselves through the above three practices instead of taking pictures of famous people." Magician Jewel Eich was the main attraction of this conference. Rhamkar Lutfar Rahman Riton, Puravi Basu and Mazharul Islam were in the panel discussion with him till 11 pm.

 Jewel Eich used magic to lighten up the audience in between her solemn speeches. At the very beginning of the discussion, Hall took people to a different level by emoting and involving them with psychological statements. After that Humayun had a long reminiscence with Ahmed. At this time the magician Jewel Aich narrated the story of Humayun's 14 gourds and 7 bottles of wine tied with ropes. He brought up the memory of having lunch or dinner with 42 types of fish. Although they live in the gap of a wall, there are many stories of murders in the balcony. Jewel Aich talks about Humayun for hours with such reminiscences. 

The chief guest of the conference was held in spite of the inclement weather. Nurun Nabi. Jyotiprakash Dutt, Puravi Basu, Belal Baig, Jewel Aich, Lutfar Rahman Riton, Zeenat Nabi, Farhad Hossain and Mazharul Islam were also present as guests. At the beginning of the program, a 1-minute silence was observed in memory of the late poet Asad Chowdhury.

Along with the yellow himud, the girls also participated in the conference wearing yellow sarees and made the conference very cool. Even children and teenagers dress up in yellow and take part in the drawing competition on the main stage. Farzin Rakiba, Dr. Ainun Nahar took care of rally drawing competition. A poetry and rhymes session was organized by Neli Islam, Chanda Sultan and Shaheen Dilwar. ABM Saleh Uddin conducted the book launch event. The episode 'Writer Humayun Ahmed: My Love' was directed by Maqsuda Ahmed. Nellie Islam assisted. Mridul Ahmed recited Punthi written by Benazir Sikdar.

Khaled Sarfuddin, member-secretary of the host organization, spoke. Abu Saeed Ratan directed 'Our Generation Our Pride' with the participation of children and teenagers. Humayun Ahmed's children's stories read in the episode 'Galpe Ghabe Humayun', Sabina Niru joins the story session with children. Lutfar Rahman Riton, Jewel Aich, Kaushik Ahmed, Dr. distributed prizes among the children. Nurun Nabi and Purvi Bose.

The recital was conducted by GH Arju. Belal Beg discussed about 'Lyricist Humayun Ahmed'. Directed by Shah Firoz. Mumu Ansari and Nahreen Islam's duo 'Jago Bahe Kunthe' enthralls everyone. Under the supervision of Farida Yasmin and Shamim Ara Begum and choreographed by Marzia Smriti, the performance of the minor artistes of Baffa won appreciation.

Chitra Rosario, Liana Manha, Bandhan, Taskinul Haque, Krishna Tithi, Salim Chowdhury and SI Tutul performed music in the mood of the conference. Shantanu Sajjad and Dr. Ainun Nahar rally. Notably, this was the sixth Humayun conference organized by Showtime Music in New York.
