The 3-day Bangladesh Conference of '37th Fobana' started on Friday, September 1 in Montreal, Canada with the auspicious start of the seminar-symposium organized by the experts on the overall welfare of the beloved motherland, with the determination to spread the fruits of Bengali culture to the new generation under the slogan 'Bangladesh of life in the diaspora'.
Fobana's executive chairman Atiqur Rahman, executive secretary Dr. Rafiq Khan, and Convenor of the Host Committee Dewan Moniruzzaman announced the opening of the conference amid huge applause at a casual dinner party.
At that time, apart from the former chairman of Fobana, Bedarul Islam Babla and Zakaria Chowdhury, there were prominent people representing various classes and professions.
Dewan Moniruzzaman, convenor of Fobana's host committee, said at this time that many Canadian organizations have been involved in this conference. This is how Fobana's range is evolving. The happiest news is that youths from Bangladesh will participate in the Youth Forum seminar virtually. Through the mutual exchange of ideas, the network between them will be widened to promote Bengali culture among the growing generation in Canada and the United States. Not only that, the expatriate generation is expected to develop a special relationship with the country of its parents.
Dewan Moniruzzaman specifically mentioned that Canadian MPs Angelo Yakno and Annie Koutrakis will speak during the prime time of the conference or on Saturday afternoon. Canadian Foreign Minister Melanie Jolie is also scheduled to arrive.
Atiqur Rahman, chairman of the executive committee of Fobana, said that in this Fobana, which started with a meet and greet, brave freedom fighters living in Canada and America will be honored and scholarships will be given to the new generation of talents. An award has been introduced in memory of late Rani Kabir, a devoted organizer of Phobana, which will be given to a particularly meritorious young generation.
Atiq said, apart from Bengali music legend Sabina Yasmin, Mumtaz MP, Tapan Chaudhary, Muja, Balam, Lovely Dev etc. will sing in the conference.
Fobana's executive secretary. Rafiq Khan said, we have formed youth clubs in different states with the intention of making the journey of Fobana fruitful 36 years ago. In this effort of the last two years, clubs have already been formed in several cities. Club members are networking and getting to know each other about Bangladesh.
Dr. Rafiq Khan mentioned, we want to extend the youth club under the supervision of the associations of expatriates in different cities of Canada and the United States.
Dr. Rafiq Khan said, I have undertaken complementary activities for Fobana's spirit for the next two days. At least: 5 seminars on topics will be held in addition to presentations by 25 organizations.
Former Chairman of Fobana Zakaria Chowdhury and Bedarul Islam Babla were also present at the meet and greet dinner. Note that Bangladesh Pratid is the media partner of Montreal Fobana. It should also be noted that Atiqur Rahman, the executive chairman of this FOBANA, is the Florida special representative of the North American version of Bangladesh Daily.
Meanwhile, 3 more conferences started on the same day under the banner of FOBANA in Dallas, Texas and Toronto City, Canada. It is known that elite artists of the country and abroad are also participating in them. The other two groups are led by Ghiyas Ahmed and Shahnewaz in Toronto and Hasmat Mobin Chowdhury in Texas.
