Bangladesh is participating in the 35th Malaysia International Machinery Fair for the first time under the initiative of the Bangladesh High Commission in Kuala Lumpur. 780 companies from 10 countries, including Bangladesh, are participating in this fair, which will be held from 11-13 July 2024 at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Center. Other participating countries are China, Germany, Korea, Indonesia, Taiwan, Iran, Japan, India, Hong Kong and Singapore. This fair is organized by ES Event Management.
Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation Deputy Chief Executive Officer Abu Bakar Yusuf inaugurated the fair on July 11. Also present were MP YB Tan Kok Ooi, former Prime Minister's Envoy for China and Dato Chong Chong Tik, Managing Director, ES Event Management and President, Malaysia-China International Trade Link Association.
On the second day of the fair on Friday, Bangladesh High Commissioner appointed to Malaysia. Shamim Ahsan visited the fair and stalls of Bangladesh. At this time, he exchanged views with the traders and visitors coming to the stall of Bangladesh High Commission and informed them about potential trade and investment in Bangladesh. During the visit, managing director of the organizing company ES Event Management and president of Malaysia-China International Trade Link Association Dato Chong Chong Tik, chief executive officer of Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Center Mala Dorasamy, officials of Bangladesh High Commission and expatriate journalists were present.
High Commissioner Shamim Ahsan said, in the context of the growing demand for Bangladeshi products in Malaysia, it is expected that by participating in such an important fair for the first time, an opportunity to create a market for new products will be created. Following Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's 'economic diplomacy', the Bangladesh High Commission in Kuala Lumpur is regularly participating in various important international trade fairs.
Plastic products, ready-made garments, leather products, jute products, food products and various related publications are displayed at the stall of Bangladesh High Commission. Also, documentaries on light engineering industry, packaging industry, various publications related to business and investment in Bangladesh, tourism and investment opportunities in Bangladesh are being screened.
