Fruit festival at National Press Club

National Press Club organized the fruit festival. The festival is organized with a collection of about 40 types of fruits with rich colors and flavors including mango, jam, jackfruit, pineapple, papaya, banana, elderberry, litchi, guava, grapefruit, kamaranga, amlaki, amra, karamcha, latkon, dragon, deua, safeda, watermelon. To add a different dimension to the festival, there was a bowl song. State Minister for Culture Nahid Izahar Khan inaugurated the festival yesterday morning at the National Press Club Auditorium. National Press Club President and Member of Parliament Farida Yasmin presided over the event and General Secretary Shyamal Dutta moderated the event.

While inaugurating the festival, Nahid Izahar Khan said, fruit and bowl music is our tradition. I want to take the fruit festival to the school level. It is our responsibility to introduce children to native fruits. Media can play a role in highlighting the quality of fruits. In the future, I will organize a fruit festival on a national level in Agargaon. President of Jatiya Press Club and Member of Parliament Farida Yasmin said, our new generation does not know the name of native fruit. It is our aim to introduce the new generation to the bowlgan so that they retain our heritage. Because our culture will advance through the hands of the young generation.

Senior members of the National Press Club Iqbal Sobhan Chowdhury, Abul Kalam Azad, Subhash Chand Badal and members of the management committee of the National Press Club were also present on the occasion. After the opening ceremony, Sarkar Hiran Raja and his troupe performed Baul Sangeet in the festival grounds.

The festival lasts from 10 am to noon.
