A press conference was held at the local Nawab Restaurant on the morning of November 16 (Saturday) in collaboration with Sub Continent Friends of Campbelltown, AB Street Library, and Multicultural Community Connect.
In the press conference, on the occasion of celebrating International Mother Language Day 2025, it was announced that the International Book Fair will be held in the Campbelltown area on February 22. From 10 am to 7 pm, this book fair will be held at the Greg Percival Hall and adjacent Helinan Park in Ingleburn, Sydney.
Parvez Khan, president of Subcontinent Friends of Campbelltown, chaired the press conference. Rafiq Islam spoke about the book fair to be held and its connection with the International Language Monument initiative in Campbelltown. He informed journalists about various events, including a possible program schedule, book stalls, an author's corner, a new book launch, a children's program, and a panel discussion by authors.
AB Street Library President Kamal Pasha said that their organization now manages 16 community libraries in different areas of Campbelltown.
He also said that our experience will help this book fair.
Councilor Ash Rahman, president of Multicultural Community Connect, noted his organization's contribution to Campbelltown's diverse culture and cultural heritage practices.
He said that their organization is proud to be a part of this event.
Rana Sharif and Ashrafuz Zaman, Directors of 'Nirala Holdings' expressed their interest in sponsoring the book fair.
Councilor Masud Chowdhury said plans for an international language monument for Campbelltown were underway, which would soon be open for public comment. This book fair, monument project will capture the glory of International Mother Language Day.
Abu Arefin of Janmabhoomi TV, Naeem Abdullah of Bangladesh Pratidin, Atiqul Rahman of Prashanthika, Puravi Parmita Bose of Us Katha, Milli Islam of Bardia Bangla School, and Dr. Khola Akash were present at the press conference. Shafin Rashed.
Shafiqul Alam, Sajjad Siddiqui, Abdus Sobhan, Abdullah Al Mamun, Mustafizur Talukder Manju and others were also present.
