Participation of Bangladesh in international 'Gifts Fair' in Malaysia

The three-day-long 14th 'Gifts Fair' has started in Malaysia. Bangladesh has participated in it. On the first day itself, Bangladeshi products created a lot of response. Importers and traders from different countries have shown interest in Bangladeshi jute and leather products. Apart from this, traders have also shown interest in Kiam's household and kitchenware, non-woven bags.

The journey of the fair started on Tuesday with an informal ceremony at the International Trade Center of the country's capital, Kuala Lumpur. The fair was inaugurated by Nkik Abubakar Bin Yusuf, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Mattrade. The fair will continue till Thursday, June 20. The fair will run daily from 9 am to evening local time. 

A total of eight countries including Bangladesh, London, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Vietnam, Korea and Malaysia participated in the three-day fair. There are total 283 booths in the fair. Bangladesh has seven of them.

Launched to promote trade between Malaysia and Asia, the 'Gift Fair' is a business-to-business trade-show, where businessmen and industrialists from the Asian continent can network. Bangladesh participated in that goal.

Bangladesh participated in the fair for the second time under the initiative of the Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) and under the supervision of Bangladesh High Commission, Kuala Lumpur.

Under the auspices of the High Commission at the Bangladesh Pavilion, incoming waves from Bangladesh (jute goods), M/s Sauda Int: (jute goods), K.M. R Craft, Madina Nonwoven Fabrics Limited, Kiam Metal Industries Limited and Women Empowerment Organization are exhibiting their products at the fair.

Many visitors, especially importers, have shown interest in the product. They also talked to the officials of the Bangladeshi organization in charge of the pavilion. 

Officials in charge of Bangladesh Pavilion said that the fair has been getting a good response since the first day. Seeing the interest in Bangladeshi products, our enthusiasm has also increased a lot.
