Bangladeshis living in Malaysia welcomed the Bengali New Year by highlighting the various forms and varieties of contemporary Bengal. Thousands of expatriate Bangladeshis from different parts of Malaysia participated in this event organized by BD Elite Club, an organization of expatriate young businessmen in Malaysia. The High Commissioner of Bangladesh High Commission in Malaysia was present as the chief guest at the event. Shamim Ahsan. The special speaker was Datushree Haji, the Speaker of the Parliament of Pahang Province. Sarkar Haji Shamsuddin and special guest LQID Asia Pacific Sdn Bhd Executive Director Datushree Md. Farmajuddin bin Nazaruddin.

There was no shortage of dancing, singing, and reciting in the day-long event on Saturday. In this event called Baisakhi Ullas, there was a ceremony of various types of food including pitha-puli, panta hilsa, chatapti, fuchka. Bangladeshi students studying in various universities, expatriates with their families, and their children can be seen spending their busy time drawing Alpanas. The whole event is decorated with various aspects of Bengal's style and variety. The invited guests are welcomed on this day to the rhythm of drums and tabla.

High Commissioner Shamim Ahsan in his speech, besides thanking the organizers of the Boishakhir event, also commented that such an initiative to develop culture is commendable. Mansoor Al Bashar Sohail, president of the organizing organization BD Elite Club, said in his speech that the elite club is committed to brightening the country's culture, tradition, and image in the diaspora. He commented that this organization will work to solve the problems of expatriates by uniting everyone.

BD Elite Club Malaysia founder Zahidur Rahman Khan Kankan and 'Baishakhi Ullas 1431 Celebration Committee convener Farid Uddin Gazi were present. Popular actor Fazlur Rahman Babu joined the event as a special attraction from Dhaka. But not acting, he performed several songs one by one at the request of the audience. Saidur Rahman Pavele, who played the role of Zakir in the drama Bachelor Point, enthralled the audience with one performance after another by Shafi Mondal, a popular Baul artist. Her singing enthralled the audience throughout the show.            

Popular vocalist Sultana Yasmin Layla from Dhaka and Zakia Sultana Mary, a regional singer from Chittagong, performed more songs at the event. Apart from this, local expatriate Bangladeshis participated in various performances from the morning. However, the presentation of the students of Bangladesh Student Organization Malaysia was also worth seeing.

Apart from expatriate Bangladeshis, there were also citizens of different countries in this arrangement of the Boishakhi fair. The visiting guests commented that this kind of arrangement abroad brightens the image of the country and the culture of the country. BD Elite Club's advisor and community leader Rezaul Karim Reza, Maqbul Hossain Mukul, Datushri Kamruzzaman Kamal, Ahidur Rahman Ahid, Datushri Jalal Uddin Salim, Moniruzzaman Monir, Datu Akhter, Qayyum Sarkar, Jasim Uddin, Rashed Badal, Shaheen Sardar, Iqbal Hossain and Moazzem Hossain Nipu were present along with many members of Bangladesh community.
