Bangladesh's Ambassador Abida Islam has been awarded the Medal of the National History Museum of Mexico. Last Wednesday, at the 80th anniversary of the National History Museum in Chapultepec Palace, Mexico, Ambassador Abida Islam was awarded the title of 'Museo Nacional de Historia-Castillo de Chapultepec'.
The award, presented in association with the ISVE Foundation, recognizes Ambassador Abida Islam and 12 other ambassadors for their contributions to cultural diplomacy and their role in preserving and promoting cultural heritage. The efforts of Ambassador Abida Islam, along with other diplomats and museum professionals, symbolize collaboration with Mexico's National Museum of History, the National Institute of Anthropology and History, and museums across the country.
Alejandra Gómez Colorado, director general of the National Museum of Mexico, was present at the ceremony at the Chapultepec Palace; ISVE Foundation Director Israel Guerrero and National History Museum Director Salvador Rueda Smithers.
