Best wishes to BNP International Secretary Khokon in New York

One of BNP's international editors, Anwar Hossain Khokon, has come from London to New York intending to speed up BNP's activities in America. He was accorded a grand reception at JFK Airport on the afternoon of 22 September. 

Addressing the leaders and activists gathered there, Anwar Hossain Khokon said that the American diaspora played an immense role in bringing down the dictatorship. Acting Chairman Tariq Rahman recalled with deep gratitude the sacrifices of BNP workers in various cities and states of the United States during the 16-year continuous movement and program. He sent me to coordinate some new programs in the changed situation. Because there is no alternative to the role of expatriate leaders and activists in creating a good environment for exercising people's voting rights and forming the next National Parliament with the preferred candidates. In addition, those injured by the dictatorship-fuelled thugs in the recent student revolution need medical treatment and financial assistance to the families of the victims.  

Central leaders Ghiyas Ahmed, Zillur Rahman, and Ghulam Farooq Shaheen were at the airport then. They welcomed Anwar Hossain Khokon with floral greetings and huge applause, accompanied by the leaders of New York State and Metropolitan BNP. The leaders then met for a dinner party at a restaurant in Elmhurst, near Jackson Heights. 

State BNP President Maulana Atiqur Rahman, Senior Vice President VP Jasimuddin, Secretary Saidur Rahman Saeed, Anisur Rahman, and the leaders of the metropolis were there. At that time, mainstream politician and BNP leader Ghiyas Ahmed said that the chief advisor of the interim government of the independent country gained through the second liberation war. All the leaders and workers of BNP in the United States are excited about the arrival of Muhammad Yunus. Still, dictator Sheikh Hasina's allies are plotting against Bangladesh. We are ready to resist any plot.
