Congresswoman Grace Meng presenting Congressional Proclamation to Dilip Nath
Bangladeshi-American Dilip Nath, a Democrat leader, received a 'Congressional Proclamation' for protecting the rights and dignity of expatriates in the United States. Congresswoman Grace Meng presented the award to him in an auditorium in Queens, New York last Friday evening.
As the district leader of the Queens Democratic Party was elected, expatriates organized this welcome gathering.
Grace Meng said, “Congress was overwhelmed by Dilip Nath's advice on the rights and dignity of the migrant community. As a member of an emerging community, Dilip Nath has now become a spokesperson for a multinational society.”
Other district leaders including New York State Senator John Lew, State Assemblyman Edward Brownstein, and former Councilwoman Elizabeth Crowley also spoke at the rally.
Moderated by Deepak Das and Rokeya Akhtar, Navra Chairperson Shukla, Executive Director Taiyeba Ahmed, Columbia University teacher Dweejan Bhattacharya, United Hindus in USA Chairman Prabhat Das, Secretary Ramdas Gharami and President Bhajan Sarkar spoke among others.
Dilip Nath immigrated to the United States at the age of 16. Initially, he worked hard as a construction worker. Later, through various colleges, Mobo of Harvard received higher education from the world-famous university. After that, the Bangladeshi Americans entered American politics to fulfill the dream of the immigrant society. Dilip Nath.
