7 competitors of Bangladesh in the Berlin International Marathon

Like every year, the Berlin BMW International Marathon was held with 48,000 runners from more than 150 countries. A festive atmosphere surrounded one of the world's best-known marathons, which started from the capital's historic Unter den Linden and ended at the historic Brandenburg Gate on Sunday. At least 1 million local and foreign tourists gathered at historical and important places in the city to support all the contestants from this morning. There were expatriates who came to encourage the Bangladeshi contestants.

7 people took part in the long-distance race with the flag of Bangladesh in the 49th event of Berlin. Ironman famous Mohammad Shamsuzzaman Arafat set a record timing for himself and for Bangladesh in this event. He took 2 hours 51 minutes to complete the 42.195 km track. 58-year-old Shiv Shankar Pal, an athlete who has participated in 124 international marathons so far, ran on this day. He crossed the finish line in three and a half hours with the red and green flag in hand. Abdullah Al Rashed, one of the contestants in the marathon in Bangladesh, took a little over 4 hours to complete the entire track. All competitors are proud to participate in such an international event under the red and green flag. He said that being able to highlight Bangladesh in any international event is always a matter of pride.

And in this year's marathon, 38-year-old Kenyan runner Eliud Kipshogae won the first title by crossing the 42-kilometer track in just 2 hours 2 minutes 42 seconds. Tigist Asefa of Ethiopia became the first among women in just 2 hours 11 minutes 53 seconds.

On this day, expatriate Bangladeshis including the wife of the ambassador to Germany Mrs. Bhuiya and the family of competitor Shiv Shankar Pal came to the historical Brandenburg Gate to support the contestants of the country.
