The three-day "Commonwealth Student Governance Summit-2024" was held at Limkokwing University, Malaysia. The youth of 'Bangladeshi Youth Alliance Malaysia (BIAM)' took part in the closing session of this international summit on behalf of Bangladesh on Sunday.
The Speaker of the Malaysian Parliament, Tan Sri Datu Dr. Johari Bin Abdul, was present as the chief guest at this summit jointly organized by the Commonwealth Student Association, Malaysian Ministry of Higher Education, Youth Hub, and Limkokwing University.
In the speech of the chief guest, Tansri Johari said to all the international young students, that each of you is the leader of your own country. You will lead your country in the future. If we learn anything good from this country, we will implement it in our own country.
Benjamin Fraser, chairperson of the Commonwealth Student Association, was present as a special guest at the summit. In the speech of the special guest, Benjamin Fraser recalled the glorious history of young students in different countries of the world. He mentioned the brave role of the students in the recent overthrow of the fascist government of Bangladesh and observed a minute's silence for the students killed in the movement.
Deputy High Commissioner of Bangladesh High Commission in Malaysia Khorshed Alam Khastgir, First Secretary (Political) Rehana Parveen, Youth Hub Founder and President Pavel Sarwar, and ambassadors of different countries were also present in the event.
On behalf of Bangladeshi Youth Alliance Malaysia (BIAM) its Central President Bashir Ibn Zafar, Lincoln University Unit President Faiza Humaira, City University Unit President Rafiqul Islam, Mahsa University Unit Secretary Taufiqur Rahman Mahfuz, UCSI University Unit Convener Mushfiqur Rahman.
